(1st verse)

Bad reception on my cell-phone; my computer’s down again,

My TV’s not a big-screen; I’m laughed-at by my friends,

The air condition’s broken; it’s no wonder I’m a grouch,

The remote-control is missing; gotta get my big ass off the couch…

(chorus #1)

I’m so depressed. I’ve paid my dues.

You think you’ve got problems? Well I was born to lose,

I’ve got the middle-class, recession-stricken, spoiled white-boy blues.

Have mercy.

(2nd verse)

My cholesterol’s too high; my investment yield is low,

The Saab’s in the garage ‘cuz the turbo is running slow,

My golf-game is inconsistent and my tan is getting light,

My mistress caught me with my girlfriend and she’s gonna tell my wife…

(chorus #2)

I’m so depressed. I’ve paid my dues.

You don’t have to be poor and lonely, or drowning in the booze,

Just a working stiff with hassles, it’s the spoiled white-boy blues.

(harmonica solo)

(3rd verse)

My boss is on my back; I’m overdue to get a raise,

I looked forward to my vacation and it rained for seven days,

I can’t smoke, it causes cancer; food I like’s bad for my health,

They tell me sex will kill me, unless I do it with myself…

(chorus #3)

I’m so depressed. I’ve paid my dues.

I can’t have any fun because they’ve got me too confused,

I’m just a middle-classed, recession-stricken, white-boy with the blues.

(harmonica solo)

(chorus #4)

Not all the sorry victims get on the evening news,

I’ve got the middle-class, recession-stricken, spoiled white-boy blues
